Trickled down generation

Gauri Verma, inherited her creative flair and an artistic bent of mind from her mother who is an award winner from the Lalit Kala Academy, UP. As a child, she developed a keen sense of observation and an ability to discover forms even in the innocuous routine of daily life. Triveni Kala Sangam helped her to find her true calling; sculpture became not only a passion but also unleashed her creative expression.

Gauri’s conceptualisation of composition is unique. Her sculptures are a far cry  from the academic style, bordering on the modern and experimental. They are radical, with abstract forms in metal and fibre.

Academically, a History honours graduate from Delhi University, she has always veered towards arts whether fine or commercial. Her childhood in Kanpur was in the midst of art.

She has participated in numerous shows of which the recent include: Art Mart at Epicentre, Gurgaon  (2011) Group show at Chennai, curated by Art Inc.
